After reading through Knave, I have been toying with the idea of a classless Whitehack.
After reading through Knave, I have been toying with the idea of a classless Whitehack.
I haven't fully developed anything, but I'm interested in seeing if anyone else has had this idea.
My only fear is that once the class system is broken down, the aspects that make the game unique will be lost. I'm looking for a simple solution to keep the well thought out mechanics intact.
I don't think there's a problem with the class system at all. I'm just trying to experiment.
First, I think the stat bonuses, like the extra AV, damage, and HP, would apply to all classes with appropriate stats.
Slots may be opened to hold Attuned Items, Combat Options, or Miracles.
I'm not sure what I'd do with class specific abilities, like the Deft's Vocation, or the Strong's monster tag ability. Like I said, it may end up being too messy. Has anyone else given it a go?
