Hey, all!
Hey, all! So the more I research other RPGs, the more I realize that Whitehack is my soulmate. It's just the perfect game (for me), and I'm blown away at how well it suits me.
But I have a question I'd like to ask. I wanna know if other people who use Whitehack are similar to me in this way:
At this point, I think it's safe to say that I'm either the laziest Referee on the planet, or I'm an improvisational Referee. I get inspired with cool ideas when I'm in the thick of it, and I have minutes before something important is supposed to happen. I make maps off the top of my head, and I NEVER write down stats for creatures or NPCs.
It doesn't always work, and certain things are difficult for me to run like challenging puzzles or cryptic messages, but nevertheless my players walk away from the table saying they had a fun time.
Whitehack really helps me Ref this way because the mechanics are so streamlined and easy to understand. I mean, even the magic is freeform!!
Does anyone else Ref this way? Or am I just crazy/lazy?
