Greetings! This is a little unorthodox so thanks in advance for any help. I’ve had the chance to run Whitehack a few times as written (a fantasy setting) but we have an idea to play a game that’s a riff on Street Fighter. I’d think most characters would be Strong based on it being a fighting game; the combat maneuver allowing you to parry / delay for improved damage is there as a good example of a “charge up” and the “close attack / far attack” maneuver is appropriate, too.

That said, the “moves” of Street Fighter - or any fighting game or mystical king fu school for that matter - seem more like miracles. Long distance attacks, unblockable attacks, teleportation, flight and so on are all part and parcel of the genre. But the mechanisms of the Wise class don’t fit well with the genre and I know they’re there for a reason.

Another idea was to replicate the Strong special ability with monster attacks, just allow it more than once.

My kids want to know what would happen if Ryu, Chun Li and Zangief walked into a dungeon. Any thoughts on whether custom maneuvers, miracles or something else is the best way to replicate the genre?
