I've only played One-Shots with WH, so far. But I'm thinking about implementing Groups into an OSR campaign. Did you ever experienced problems with broad vs. narrow defined groups?
I know this kind of gamers that take a vocation like 'soldier' and use them for every check ('I learned sneaking in the army'; 'of course, finding traps is crucial for a front soldier'; 'while fighting wizards, I experienced a lot of different spells on the field').
There is no problem with players ruining their own play experience but I fear others might be frustrated, especially when they take 'swine herder' and don't stretch the application.
