Whitehack Quickstart Character Generation v.0.3

Whitehack Quickstart Character Generation v.0.3

Hope there aren't substantial changes to this but i'll leave this version up for a week. Let me know if you see anything that needs to be corrected or improved. I'll post a final version of this next week.

  1. i'm thinking of maybe adding a Quickstart Equipment list at the bottom. Generic adventure stuff with a few swappable items and some leftover coins. Seems in the nature of the document to get play going faster.

  3. Heads up, I think the Strong's +4 is for saving throws, not for attack/stunt rolls. Otherwise looks good.

  4. Good catch, Ian Wyckoff. Glad you and Brian are keeping me somewhat honest.

As much as these things are about creating player aids to get the game going quicker; it's also a way of me organizing the game so that I understand it better.

  5. for gear, i was thinking of going with this...

Weapon: [pick one] short sword or staff (each 1d6-1 damage); Leather armor (AC2); week’s rations, backpack, 2 utility items as needed; large sack; 60 gold .

It's a bit parsimonious but the starting gold in the system isn't much. any thoughts?

  6. Quick update. After gaming with this a session... the next version will have: the outline at the top presented as bullet points; colors darkened; Quick equipment will be moved to a second page (presumably printed on the verso) with some standard equipment added and a brief cheat sheet of the rules (in case the players get bored or whatever and want a place to source questions on their own).

  7. Greetings E. Tage Larsen! We haven't seen you around the Society in a while. We hope all is well with you!

Did you ever complete v.04 of your quickstart?

    Take care!

  8. Jacques van der Merwe hi. Thanks for checking in. I DID complete a version .4. It's a slightly easier to read version than 3 and also has a second page that is an overview of some core mechanics. I made a pale attempt at adding quick start packages. That could probably be improved on. And there's space on that doc if you want to add notes or house rules etc.

You should be able to get to it via this link, but if not let me know as i have a checkered past with linking files...
