Players Roll All the Dice
Generally, tasks are resolved by Roll High Under: rolling below character ABILITY but above opposing QUALITY or DIFFICULTY.

Success occurs for rolls at or below ABILITY and above QUALITY.

Criticals (benefitting the character) occur on rolls equal to ABILITY

Fumbles (against the character) occur on rolls of natural 20.

Compromises (complications, twists, success with a cost, etc.) occur on rolls equal to QUALITY or...
Occur on rolls equal to or lower than QUALITY

Specific tasks are resolved as follows:

PC Attacks: roll over Enemy Armour Class (AC); roll under Attack Value (AV)

PC Defense: Roll over Enemy Hit Dice (HD); Roll under Ascending Armour Class (AAC; 10 + AC).

PC Save/Task: Roll over difficulty or enemy HD; Roll under Saving Throw (ST) or Attribute.

Enemy Save/Task: Roll over difficulty or enemy HD; Roll under Attribute
