"There are no rules specifically for sneaking in Whitehack as far as I know, so what I do in My Campaign is to base the wisdom roll to detect someone on the quality of the sneak roll. To detect the quality-14 character above, a guard would have to roll equal or less than wisdom, but above 14. As we’ll soon see, this is also how AC works in second edition Whitehack."

Is it just me me or this not a much better way of doing oppossed rolls in WH? It gets rid of the whole [Successful positive pair > critical success > normal success > fumble > failed negative pair] chain and follows the same system as AC and combat and the rest of the game?

Just musing is all. :)
